John Summers is a partner with Bell Baker and articled with the firm before being called to the Ontario Bar in 1999. An avid proponent of alternative dispute resolution, John has a varied practice offering advice and representation in civil litigation and family law. As a father, John understands the need to work with clients in a cost-effective way that benefits the family while ensuring the best results for his clients. John also provides advice and representation on education issues, employment matters, personal injury, and insurance matters.

John is a former instructor at the Bar Admission Course and a guest lecturer at various educational programs. John has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as various administrative tribunals. John graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa in 1997. John became Bell Baker’s managing partner in January 2019.
