Judie Chan

Judie Yuk Wah Chan (陳玉華)

Judie has been practicing law for over 40 years. After having practiced with the firm of Barnes Sammon since 1982, Judie joined Bell Baker in 2025. She received her law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979. Having been born in Hong Kong, she reads, writes and speaks Chinese (Cantonese dialect). 

Judie practices in residential and commercial real estate (experienced in non-resident purchase and sale transactions) having completed hundreds of purchase and sale transactions in many property classes. Judie acts for many clients in secured lending, corporate and commercial law, including commercial leasing, the purchase and sale of businesses, franchises, and drafting of shareholder agreements. Judie also has extensive experience in wills and estates, having drafted wills and powers of attorney for many clients. Judie has also drafted family law domestic contracts and marriage/separation agreements. Finally, Judie has experience in immigration law having dealt with illegal spousal sponsorship cases.

 Judie attends to each of her client’s needs in a responsive, thorough, and professional manner.
